Damn Yankees…
Amongst the ridiculous heavy doses we’ve been receiving lately from the likes of Crooks, The Hundreds and Nike (especially Nike!), the recent shipments from UNDFTD – by contrast – seem to be best served in shot glasses as another lightweight drop came in today.
If it weren’t for the utter dopeness of this jacket – the lone fare of this drop – it could be easily overlooked by the random patron waifishly navigating our shelves and racks with stifling, hopeless, ambiguity. But that’s if it weren’t dope. UNDFTD’s flair for simplicity once again manages to permeate even the trends that as of late, have been embellished by the streetwear industry’s undying allegiance to superfluous color and material. And this jacket is exhibit “A”. More a windbreaker than a varsity much due to its lack of overall bulk and weight, this article does just enough to stand out without being too “in your face” by simply employing UNDFTD’s archetypal logos and monikers, making it easily recognizable among both hardcore and casual streetwear enthusiasts. Not to mention, the ingenious choice to use my beloved Yankee Blue gives it a subtle hint of life as opposed to going monochrome.
