Blackout…

Friday, May 28th, 2010

So what if it’s hot outside, all black never fails. Another day, another drop from Nike. And more love for the Toki’s and Aina’s. While still a small shipment the decision to mix things up with the sum-of-no-colors provides a well overdue alternative in a season where over-zealous chromatics typically reign supreme. If you dig casual but just can’t dodge the “swoosh” then come cop a pair, especially since day 2 of our super-huge Memorial Weekend blowout is tomorrow.

If you haven’t already heard, then WAKE THE F@%* UP!

The Air Jordan Retro 9 “Powder Blues” (its actually “University Blue” but who cares really?) drop this Saturday @ 11AM sharp. Talk about a perfect way to start the Summer, eh? If you’re certain you want a pair then be out there by 10 the latest cause lineups are rumored to be an expectation. Be there.

Things You Forgot About…

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Once again the Wonder Twins Leadan and Sami – wait a minute, is that Chris?! Almost didn’t recognize him. Anyway the brothers from another species got their shine on with this week’s TYFA. Leadan went street and Chris… went… casual. Let that marinate for a bit. This was supposed to be the best TYFA ever. We had the spot, we had the plan, we had the will, just not the time, luck, or southern hospitality. We still managed to salvage a shoot out of the whole debacle, hitting up the tracks, and a few heads shredding it up across from Sheep. The guys were still in their fits when they sat out back and decided to conduct a little biz, so I finished up the set with some looks from there. Hopefully I didn’t interrupt too much.

BTW keep an eye out for Red Substance

Learn You a Little Something…

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

As if our gear wasn’t enough, now you get the chance to browse through damn near everyone else’s stock. That’s right, Issue #2 of the “Tourists Guide to All Things Cool” is on the shelves, and just in time to guarantee that your wallet will be comatose come Memorial Weekend. Like you’ve come to expect from Antenna, this edition is packed cover to cover with everything you wish you had. Covering everything from Alfred Hitchckock and Alison Brie to kombucha and babaganoush, with a few dope threads peppered in-between, I expect the pages might get a little sticky from the sweaty fingertips – or something else (I mean if you’re into that sort of thing). Maybe it’s me but they always seem to pack the best stuff in the Summer volumes. Just sayin…

Simple & Clean…

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Looks like the boys at Rocksmith wanna take the Summer by storm, but not on any extravagant shit. Simple tees and v-necks are the calling card this time, and if less is more then this is just what the doctor ordered. A little elegance out of a streetwear line is something we haven’t had for a while as we tend to lean a bit more towards the hardcore stuff (check the last Crooks, 10.Deep, Hundreds, and Mishka posts); so its nice to see someone from scene try to grow us up a little.

Bombs Away…

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Oh man, The Hundreds dropped a big one on us today. I’m not even sure we’ve got the space necessary to handle a lineup this big – 12 tees, 4 snapbacks, 3 cargos, and a shitload of steez. If you wanted color to kickstart your Summer wardrobe, then this will definitely be a booster shot to the nads. Let the grown folks keep their buttondowns, we rock tees over here!

Things You Forgot About…

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Another week, another look, another random ass locale – see if you can guess where we are this time. Once again our dynamic joined-at-the-hip duo take the spotlight for another affair. With the dilapidated buildings already tagged and owned by Keelan, another trek had to be made. Still not straying too far from the shop, we ran up on this alley that was too good to pass up. Only problem was figuring out what the eff’ to do! Screw it, lets just have some fun! 30 minutes, about a half-dozen too-weak-for-Jackass stunts, and a piss break later, ta-da! You have our TYFA. It’s weird trying to mesh parkour and utter stupidity with being fly, doing so probably takes a great bit of arrogance and thick-headedness – kinda like playing in the mud with new clothes. Wait, come to think about it, that’s exactly what happened! (Well, sans the mud). But alls well as long as Samir gets a number out of it. It’s a good thing Kirk hates the camera, ’cause I dunno if I could have 1-upped an amped Pringle, so thanks for making this one easy.

Unstoppable…

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Yet another satellite drop from Crooks & Castles came through, and it’s just what you’ve come to expect by now. Not saying it’s anything unoriginal or uninspired, but remember what I said in my last Crooks post? Well, it looks like C&C’s button-down game definitely ranks on the other side of the spectrum, trading clips and mags for stripes and plaids en route to cleaning up (somewhat) their proudly rebellious image. Apparently, having a split personality seems to be paying off for the Crooks, because no matter how far they stray from the “DGAF” mantra, the love goes nowhere. Simply put, they can’t be stopped.
