Things You Forgot About…
Thursday, November 26th, 2009After flipping thru a Louis Vuitton lookbook during some downtime Keylan came up with a bright idea. It seems that our traditional TYFA posts just weren’t cutting it for him, so he figured “Why not make it a real photo shoot!” I replied, “Hells Yeah! (with 2 fist pumps!)” So for this weeks TYFA, we decided to take it to push it to the limit, effectively taking our weekly highlight post in a new direction. Keylan looks like he’s movin weight in this one. Decked out head to toe (or at least head to waist) in 10 Deep apparel (Cappington Beanie, Paddington Plus Hoodie, Heavy Duty Tee), flush with the “ScuffProof” Nike Goadome II boots, and topped off with the Blackout Superstar Watch by Meister and the Big Black Duffel by Crooks & Castles. This self-styled ensemble can quite possibly be the dopest one we’ve ever put together (or shot, for that matter)! Congrats Key, you’ve officially revolutionized the way we do TYFA. Lynda will be proud.

Clipse feat. Cam’ron “Popular Demand (Popeyes)” Music Video
Thursday, November 26th, 2009In promotion of their upcoming album “Til the Casket Drops”, our guys the Clipse tag teamed with Killa Cam on their new banga “Popular Demand” or as everyone else knows it, “Popeyes”. Continuing a string of viral, guerrilla-style videos in support of the album the Brothers Thornton had to shoot this one on some renegade s**t, takin over Obama Fried Chicken in Brooklyn. Expect to see more from the VA Beach duo leading up to their much anticipated 3rd studio album on December 8th.

Stuffed!…
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009Jordan season is in full swing, and we’re STUFFED (It ain’t even Thanksgiving yet)! We’re practically bursting at the seams with Jordan (if only my closet looked like our stock room!). This month’s latest shipment brings more fabric than footwear with a full run in reversible jackets and hoodies, an obscene overhaul in tees (really, that many?), and a new colorway to the Winterized Spizike ,which has been growing in popularity as of late. Our shelves are stuffed with all kinds of Jordan gear, and were in for one hell of time moving it all. Thank God for Black Friday.

NC Sneaker Summit: The Aftermath…
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009Saturday, the 2nd Annual NC Sneaker Summit came to Charlotte and boy, was it an event! Local sneaker heads came out in droves to show their support and their best heat, and at its peak there were at least 400 heads packed in all at once. I personally was wowed by the sheer amount of steez some of these collections were packing, and I damn near creamed my pants at the sight of one table in particular (Ruuuun Toooo The Hiiiiills!). I mean, I didn’t know that Charlotte fiends kept it so real! The atmosphere was lively, thanks to the all the vendors – who were more than willing to stop and chat it up – and the entertainment wasn’t lacking either. Kaze and Drique rocked the house and the dance crew was poppin & lockin all over the place. DJ SK held it down on the ones and two’s and kept me knodding to the beats all day. So kudos to KT and his team! Were lookin forward to the next one. Needless to say, this was definitely one of the biggest highlights of my year so far.

Take Two…
Monday, November 23rd, 2009We first introduced you to Sabit a few posts back and slowly but surely, NYC brand is starting to set its roots in here at the shop. The name has been getting around in the community as more and more people have started to take notice. Look’s like the whole “Tanoshinde” philosophy is paying off. To sway the skeptics and snag the seekers (say that three times fast!), Sabit has sent us two new pieces that are sure to be clinchers for those on the fence (to be honest, we could really call it three, but that would be cheating). It looks like Sabit is in it for the long haul, and with the stuff we’ve got coming, it’s gonna be a nice, slow ride.

Fly In…
Monday, November 23rd, 2009New @ Flava Factory comes Passport, the brainchild of Mikhayel Tesfaye aka Mik Jagga ,former stylist/creative director/consultant (pretty much “The Man”) for brands such as Mecca and Rocawear. Looking to take the world by storm, the fashion guru meticulously crafted and developed the collection to provide a breath of fresh air into the staling lifestyle footwear scene. Geared towards the uber chic urban man, the sneakers flaunt an innovative use of materials and “artsy” construction clearly intended to set Passport apart from other lifestyle mainstays. We look forward to more releases from the collection as this brand grows from its fledgling state (it’s only about 3 months old) and solidifies itself within the fashion community.

Like Butter Baby…
Monday, November 23rd, 2009Now THIS is sexy! The kind of stuff that gets you noticed (by the models). Since ‘89 G-Star has been the epitome of “Cutting-Edge”, and now that they’ve taken the shop by storm, they’re out to show the new guys how it’s really done! With a finely cultured array of coats, jackets, sweaters, and button downs, this has got to be the sexiest drop we’ve ever had. So splash on your Clive Christian No. 1 (grown man sh**t!) and come get your chick-magnet today, your manhood will thank you for it (tonight).

The Sun’ll Come Out, Tomorrow…
Friday, November 20th, 2009After much anticipation (and controversy), the Air Jordan “Rising Sun” XII’s will finally be released. Now I know you all know about Japan’s little beef with the insole (you can’t even see it!), and how they felt it was disrespectful for us to step on their national symbol, and blah, blah, blah (crybabies). So like everyone else in the country (except for Flight Club, lucky bastards) who had a stock of these, we had to send back our soles and wait for an alternate to be shipped. So a word of advice for the extremely lucky few with an original pair, DO NOT WEAR THEM! You’ll find out why in 5 years.
