Summer is all but over, and the signs are everywhere. There’s no kids in the streets, the heat index peaks in “just” the high 80’s, the first twinges of brown silently creep upon the leaves, theres a soft breeze foreshadowing the coming cold, “Forever Young” (Bob Dylan) plays softly along the ambient sound of the local flora and fauna. It’s about time to wreak some havoc.
This whole summer has been dominated by either solid colors or plaids, and quite frankly, Crooks does not appreciate it. Leave it to the thieves to come and rough things up a bit as we kick off the first wave of Fall drops. This is just a taste of what’s to come, ’cause judging from the lookbook, this could very well be the heaviest drop from C&C in a long time. Finally, some much needed balance – all these pretty things were starting to wear me out.

As G-Star has steadily extended its reach across the shop’s shelf space it’s slowly began to leech room away from some of the other premier labels we carry up here. But one label that never seems to be affected by such encroachments (generally because it never sticks around long enough) has just dropped the first taste of their new season. Let’s see if they can break their own record.
The last traces of Play Cloths summer shipments linger lonely on the small perch in which they find refuge. It’s tough to believe that those few remaining members were first introduced a little over 2 months ago, as the nearly the entire stock sold out within the first week. And with the autumn months bearing down on us, the long sleeve resurrection is close at hand.
It’s a good thing then that PC is ahead of the curve on this one, stocking us with an abundance of light jackets, crewnecks, hoods and even a set of crispy-ass sweats in addition to the expected button-ups and tees. Inaugural fans will be pleased to see the improvements in quality that PC has made since their inception nearly 2 years ago.
Unless you’re the type that prefers to have the one-up on everyone, it may still be a little warm to don some of this stuff so early. But on the other hand, it would be nice to have it all stashed away, waiting for you when that first cold front comes breezing through. So sleepers be warned, the first day temps hit sub-70°, this stuff will vanish almost as swiftly as it came.

I’ll just go ahead and state the obvious –
This has most definitely been the summer of G-Star.
What is this, like the 9th shipment in the past 2 months? And it’s still going strong!
Of course button-ups provide a bulk of the main course (as usual) with a rare denim jacket sighting, but the spotlight still shines brightest on the lower half. The advent of casual pants rather than jeans is a much needed curveball that saved the entire collection from being stuck in a monotonous limbo (although any venture into retail purgatory would undoubtedly be short lived when you’re a label such as G-Star). Seems like Keelan’s H&M stylings have served as the catalyst for yet another shop innovation. Lynda would be proud.

A couple weeks ago we re-introduced you to DC Shoes’ Life collection with the impressive entry of Rob Dyrdek’s signature Royal model. Now in case you aren’t a fan of over-zealous patent leather, then the latest pairs to hit the shelves may be just right for you.
If this silhouette seems vaguely familiar then you probably own a pair from which it were tweaked. These are the new Admiral Sport, and as the title suggests, they’re the athletically modified version of the classic Admirals we had in stock a few months ago.
More a shoe for active use rather than just lounging, these boys are packing a few anatomical upgrades to help them stand up to whatever the rigors of your day to day life may be. Full-grain leather, double reinforced stitching, panache boot styling, whatever you need for durability and comfort, these have it. A definite must for the casual fan.

All summer G-Star has provided us with quite an assortment of cargo shorts. But with autumn rolling around it’s about time we’ve seen them go back to their roots. Of course the button ups are here to stay but the latest addition to our denim line is the real eye-popper. From the tapered cut, natural wrinkles, heavy abrasions and fading, this can probably be our most detailed pair to date (sorry PRPS). But do me – and yourself – a favor and don’t be too pressed (pun intended) to iron these.

It’s safe to say the title statement essentially sums this up.
Since our first shipment, BBC has pretty much been the shop’s model for consistency. The freezer has been filled, emptied, re-filled, and done all over again at least 3 times, with each drop outdoing the last. With such an astounding track record at their disposal, there aren’t too many praises that haven’t already been sung.
Unlike our previous tee-exclusive drop, this one beholds a tad more variety, an obvious precursor to the heat set to drop as autumn pulls around. Unfortunately, there’s only one chance left to cop the jeans featured after the jump, as the other pairs were immediately snagged by the lucky shoppers on the scene as soon as the box was opened.
Better luck next time.
